Melba, Tina, Justin and me -- this was the only jump shot that caught me in the air. |
As a kid I really, really, really wanted a trampoline! So, my mom paid me $.50 an hour (yes, I am really that old) to watch my siblings while she did a quick milk run around the corner to Stimpsons or occasionally while she ran around the other corner to my Aunt's house for some adult conversation. I saved all my monies until I had "enough" (I'm sure it wasn't enough, but thanks Mom for making me feel like I had made such an accomplishment :).
I LOVED that trampoline! I loved feeling like I could fly. I loved the thrill of going so high that my stomach did little flips in anticipation that I might just bounce right off into the peas. I loved winning everyone in the neighborhood at bum war. And, I loved jumping with the sprinkler underneath, keeping us cool and giggling on hot summer days. The trampoline was the center of fun from spring to fall.
So, naturally, I had to see if I still had a front flip in me as part of my 40 days of adventure --
and I DID! Plus a few other tricks.
Thanks Melba, Justin, Tina and my two littlest peanuts for a jump'n good time.
